Mar Thoma English medium School and Mar Thoma Central School, Cherunniyoor, Varkala

Under the auspices of the Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam Diocese of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, two mission-driven educational institutions are making significant contributions in the Varkala region: Mar Thoma English Medium School and Mar Thoma Central School, Cherunniyoor.

Mar Thoma English Medium School, Varkala

Situated near the Varkala Railway Station in Varkala town, Mar Thoma English Medium School offers classes from Lower Kindergarten (LKG) to the fourth grade. The school currently educates 150 students under the guidance of 10 dedicated teachers and 2 non-teaching staff. This institution focuses on providing quality education in its formative years, laying a strong foundation for students' academic journeys.

Mar Thoma Central School, Cherunniyoor

Established in June 2006, Mar Thoma Central School is located in the serene surroundings of Cherunniyoor, Varkala, six kilometers from Varkala town, in around Three -acre campus. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under Affiliation No: 931008 and offers classes from LKG to the 10th grade. With a total enrollment of 308 students and a dedicated staff of 37 members, the school emphasizes the pursuit of knowledge, exemplary work, self-confidence, and righteous living, aiming to nurture responsible individuals. The school offers programs in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, a School Band, and extracurricular activities such as Keyboard, Dance, Abacus, and Karate to promote all-round development. Students have achieved recognition in national and international competitions, including the NASA Space App Challenge, Codeavour International Robotic Competition, and CBSE State Kalolsavam. Academically, the students have consistently produced commendable results.
